Foreword Most of us remain under-performers in life and profession. tis because we normally fail to measure our true potential. Once we realize our true potential, we can excel in more than one field of vity. One such individual who realized his true potential is SMadda Satyanarayana. I cherish my association with him for more than 10 years. There is an insatiable hunger in him to make his contribution for the welfare of humanity. I consider him more as contributor than a performer because a performer takes pride in ssuccess whereas a contributor gets his satisfaction from the welfare of the society around him. I am privileged to write a panegyric on his beautiful book Gnana Chandrika. It is poetic presentation of the Book of Proverbs in Telugu. Gnana Chandrika (Proverbs) compiles numerous short instructions for living an effective life on earth. It concerns itself completely with instructing people in the path of wisdom. The writer of the book recognizes the varied circumstances of a person's life and provides principles to apply in a variety of situations rather than instructions to follow in only a few specific instances. In the Book of Proverbs, Solomon reveals the mind of God in matters high and otty and in common, ordinary, everyday situations, too. It appears mat no topic escaped King Solomon's attention. Matters pertaining to personal conduct, sexual relations, business, wealth, charity, ambition, discipline, debt, child-rearing, character, alcohol, politics, evenge, and godliness are among the many topics covered in this rich collection of wise sayings.
