1. The Deer and His Antlers A proud deer loved admiring his grand antlers in a pond's reflection. "Such beautiful antlers," he would say, "if only my legs were as lovely." One day, while near the pond, a lion appeared suddenly. The deer ran swiftly into the forest to escape, but his antlers got caught in the branches. Struggling to free himself, he grew frustrated and blamed his antlers for putting him in danger. Just as the lion drew closer, the deer remembered his strong legs. Using all his strength, he broke free and dashed away to safety. After the lion gave up the chase, the deer realised his plain legs had saved him, while nis admired antlers had nearly cost him his life. From then on, he valued his legs and never wished for them to be different again. Moral: What seems less important may be what helps you most. Appreciate it.
