1. MATSYAVATARA (Incarnation as a Fish) Millions of years ago there was a deluge. The entire world was water-filled like a vast sea. Sri Brahmadeva was one of the Supreme Gods. When he was in deep sleep the Four Vedas were stolen by a demon. His name was Hayagreeva. He was a bad demon. Demons are against righteous life. Hayagreeva hid in deep sea after taking away the Vedas from Brahma. At that time sage Satyavratha was expiating. One day he was praying to the Suryabhagavan standing in the sea. A small fish came and rested on his palm. He left it back in the water. The fish begged the sage. "O kind sage! there are big fish and crocodiles in this water. They eat me.
